It’s not the first time it snowed since Summer ended, but the snow we got overnight was the first snow of substance. I didn’t even see it start, I just went to take the dog out for a quick bladder break around 10 pm, and it was a total shock to find a thick blanket of snow on the ground with more falling from the sky.
The only thing that made it even remotely entertaining was seeing Pearl’s reaction. She freaked out and started running through it all, jumping and playing. It was very cute but I don’t think it’s enough to last me the whole season.
This morning I woke up to snow plows on the street and a sick kid yet again, so at least I got to go back to bed for a couple of hours.
I’m just not really ready. There’s been a lot more snow this time in other years – I still remember the day we brought Breanna home from the hospital when she was a whole two days old. It was a total blizzard and the roads were slippery and by the time we got home I could barely uncurl the fingers that had been gripping my door handle until the knuckles turned bone-white. It was a bit nerve-wracking.
So really, so far the snow hasn’t been bad at all. But I still remember the ridiculous amount of snow we got last year and how it just stretches on endlessly. I’m not ready for Winter yet. At all.
Amen Sista. I am totally not ready either. How come we don’t get to ease into our seasons anymore? It’s like you wake up one day and BAM it’s 30 degrees and stupidly hot or you wake up one morning or go out to take the dog out and BAM it’s winter. Sucks. I’m not ready yet either. I also have to go out and find myself a snowsuit and boots so I can play with the kids in the snow. Fun right? Not really lol. At least you don’t have a driveway to shovel! 😉
Love the new design!
