Hayley stayed home from school today, which was a shame since she had a Ped day on Thursday and Friday. She had a really sore throat and a low fever so it was pointless to force her to go. And I could tell she really was sick because she never got dressed and she was really Cranky with a capital C all day long. She was trying to make Wall-E eyes out of styrofoam cups and while she eventually succeeded, I thought she would split the earth in half with her rage for awhile when it WASN’T working.
I figured she’d be okay tomorrow but this evening she was sobbing about a sore stomach and that she felt sick. The fact that she refused to eat her snack proves she isn’t exaggerating. Blah. ‘Tis the season for sickness. How much longer until summer when germs aren’t so rampant?

I am on book four of the Twilight series. I haven’t seen the movie, though I would like to. I would prefer to see it with another female since I don’t think it’s George’s kind of movie at all, despite the vampire theme.
I loved the book Twilight. I also really liked New Moon. I then LOVED Eclipse like whoa. And now I’m on Breaking Dawn. Oh good lord. What an awful book. So far I have hated most of it and I’m about halfway through. The only reason I’m continuing is because I’m emotionally invested in it, three books’ worth. I have to know what happens next. But it is BAD. Really bad. A friend of mine told me that the author was really rushed by the publishers to put it out there. I still think she may have been drunk, high, or both at the time of writing. It’s that awful.
I’m on section three now, and I really hope it picks up now that it’s back to Bella’s point of view. Please.

I bought a Halti for Pearl because that dog is unbelievably bad about walking on leash no matter what I try. I heard good things about the Halti so when I saw it was on sale at a local pet store I went and got one yesterday. We didn’t bring Pearl because while she is cute, she is also an imbecile who acts up around people.
They said the sizing chart is usually right but it’s a good idea to bring the dog in to try it on, especially since it was non-refundable being a sale. It was close to closing time on the last sale day so I went with the size two which said that was appropriate for Beagles.
I brought it home and tried it on. Too big. On the INSIDE of the package, which can only be seen after you purchase and open it, it says that female dogs generally need one size smaller than the breed in question. THANKS. That was helpful.
Thank goodness it was cheap.
In the meantime, walking Pearl still makes me want to a) strangle her, b) stab myself, c) all of the above.

Off to read Breaking Dawn now, where I will continue to try to avoid stabbing myself.
I felt the exact same about the books… Eclipse was so good… so good. And while I didn’t hate Breaking Dawn, I didn’t like it either. It felt rushed and disjointed and where are the people I fell in love with in the other three books?! I saw the movie this weekend… it was worse than Breaking Dawn. At least in my opinion…. I am hoping the sequel is better. It did seem to get better as it went on, but again, RUSHED. Arg.
allisons last blog post..
I also felt that way about the book. I skimmed where she writes from Jacobs’ point of view…boring!
I think you’ll love the movie. You really have to read the books to enjoy the movie. I hear that the 2nd one is going into production soon…ahhhh Edward!! heehee

Dawns last blog post..Tuesday….
I got hooked on the Twilight series in the last week or so. I’m anxious for book 4 to come in and would love to see the movie. I’m hoping it’s not too horrible!
I wanted to comment about walking your dog. I too, felt the same way about walking my dog Sam. I wanted to stab myself or kill him. Every. Single. Walk. He’s a 95 lb German Shepherd and I’m 110 lb woman, so you can imagine what the walks were like…Sam lunging at everything, pulling, dragging me, barking at everything. It was a nightmare! At the time he also began his hatred for other dogs. After he attacked 2 dogs – while on leash during a walk – I called in the big guns. The Dog Whisperer. He was booked for like 6 months and I was desperate, so he referred someone he’d been training. Linn Boyke comes to my house and CHANGES MY DOG IN 2 MINUTES! 2 minutes!!! And he walks my dog on no more than a piece of rope. I had graduated from the halti, to a harness, to a choke chain, to a prong collar – and he’s walking him on a rope? It was incredible. For 30 mins he walked my dog with the rope dragging on the ground, other dogs in full view, and Sam walked calmly and right at his side. I would be more than happy to give you some super easy tips that will change your life and make you love walking your dog. I can walk my dog for an hour and he is a breeze! No pulling! No barking! Feel free to email me: vicki@vickitripp.com. I really enjoy your blog. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
Hi Vicki, I tried to email you but the address you gave me bounced back.
At this point I would love any tips that might make it better. The past two days haven’t been so bad because it snowed and she’s too distracted to pull too much, but she still does it a bit and I would really like her to stop before Winter really hits – she’s only a Beagle, but I’m not very big myself and I don’t want her pulling me when there’s ice on the ground!
(I’m also eager to hear about it because I am SO TIRED of her trying to run and jump on every single person we pass on the street. While it’s great that she’s so friendly, it’s embarrassing!)
I’m all ears!
