Friday Flashback #5 – Hangin' Tough

(I know, it’s Saturday, not Friday. Forgive me. I spent Friday evening emptying out Hayley’s bedroom which is now in the hall, kitchen, and living room so we could start Project: Switch the Rooms. Joy!)

There was no doubt in my mind as to what I would use for this week’s flashback video. Hayley’s birthday is today, the 20th, so of course I had no intentions of going out anywhere without her. However, that being said, if it wasn’t her birthday today, I would be heading to downtown Montreal this evening. Why? Sad or not, it would be so I could relive a bit of fan mania from my youth – I’d be seeing New Kids on the Block in concert tonight. I was all set to buy myself a ticket, even if I ended up going alone, and then I saw the damn date.

I’ll live. I’m not sure how well it would stand up to my memory of their first time in Montreal, which was my first concert ever. I screamed myself hoarse, like Donnie Wahlberg might hear me over the other thousands of people who were also screaming.

I don’t really have one favorite song by them, I loved most of them, but I chose this one in particular since it features my homeboy (see what I did there? All old skool?) Donnie so heavily.

Hang tough, yo!

  1. And here is where I make you really, really jealous. Next Sunday I will be seeing good old NKOTB at the TD Banknorth in Boston! My best friend bought me a ticket for my birthday (which was in August) and as long as I can make it to her town a few minutes away from Boston, she and her hubby will be my tour guides for the entire day – I’ve never actually been IN Boston, so I’m stoked.

I wish I could take some pictures for you, but no cameras are allowed inside of the venue. Dammit.

Randis last blog post..A Few Things – Bullet Style!

  2. I LOVED Donnie myself. They came to Detroit on my 14th birthday and my best friend’s father took us all over town stalking them. I never did get to meet them but they waved to us through the window of a Blockbuster which made all of us scream of course!

  3. Happy Birthday Hayley! I can’t believe I’ve been reading your blog for more than 6 years (since I was seeking out pregnancy blogs when I was pg with my son, who will be 6 next month!)

  4. OH MY OH MY!!! I was there Sherry and let me tell ya… I screamed myself hoarse again this time around LOL

They are all grown up now (as am I) and I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised and pleased!!!!

I wondered if Jordan still had it in him, and he does.

Joey Joe is all grown up and I have to go with Donnie as my favorite – still!!!

I have real crap quality videos and pictures on my facebook if you wanna check it out… I apologize ahead of time for that woman who wouldn’t shut up and stop screaming… oh wait, that was me! LOL

  5. I’m going on sunday!! I mean not to rub it in… 🙂 I’m thinking its going to be alot of new stuff…but thats okay. Any throwbacks they do for me will be enough!
