Photo overload

I’ve been having some problems with the USB cable for my camera in that it doesn’t seem to connect any longer, but the camera itself works fine. Luckily a friend of ours has a photo printer so George was able to take my memory card, put it in the printer, and then dump the photos for me and bring them home. And so now I will drown you all with a multitude of pictures since I haven’t had any since APRIL..

This is what Breanna’s been doing for the past 2 or 3 weeks. She gets better at it every day and she is Very Proud.

It seems every week or so I have a new favorite picture of the two girls. This is the most recent favorite. I love this picture.

Hayley wanted a skipping rope. She’s still very far from learning to actually use it but she has fun trying. She did manage to skip with me a few times if I told her when to jump.

Breanna outgrew the infant tub so I got out the bath seat. As you can probably tell, she really likes being in the big tub. She especially loves taking a bath with Hayley, laughing non-stop.

One of her favorite things in the bath is touching the running water.

The other new thing is we decided to go ahead and start trying out solids on Saturday even though she won’t be six months until this coming Saturday. I gave her mashed up banana with a bit of breastmilk. She was thrilled.

And then after a few seconds she was clearly thinking, “What the hell? THIS is what I’ve been waiting for all this time?!”

Disney princesses have nothing on MY princess. (It’s still unfair that she gets this hair and I get stuck with the straight stuff.)

For no real reason I baked a cake on Friday night and the next day I handed Hayley the icing, a knife, and some chocolate sprinkles and let her go to work. There’s at least a 2-inch layer of icing so it’s really sweet, but she did a good job.

We had a Mother’s Day dinner at George’s parents’ house on Saturday night (where I devoured the Thai chicken his sister made, eating everything on my plate, everything George didn’t finish, and everything left in the pan. It was, uh, really good.).

Then we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Hayley always brings Stuart Little with her and she put him beside the dessert and made everyone sing “Happy Birthday” to him. It’s his “birthday” every second day.

A happy baby and her Daddy.

It rained every day for at least a week or so now, but at least on Mother’s Day it held off long enough for us to take a family stroll to the park for little energy release.

Whew. Now to go fill up my memory card again!

  1. The girls are gorgeous! Hayley is so much of a mix of you & George … although she most looks like her dad, I think. Both of them are soooo adorable!

  2. Boy are you and George going to be in trouble when those girls hit dating age! Breanna is looking more like Hayley now…do you see any signs of her also being blessed with “the hair”?

Seriously though, I love your photo entries – always such wonderful shots!

  3. I’ve been lurking a little while. I wanted you to know how beautiful your little girls are. Beanna looks like she is enjoying each new experience fully.

I love Hayley’s hair. The best picture of it is when you have her in the two pony tails.

  4. I’m jealous of Hayley’s hair too! The girls are both so cute. I love seeing your photos and reading about your kids because, living in a college town, I *never* see little kids. Sometimes I forget they exist. Although now that some of my high school friends are getting married, I might be hearing about kids from more people in the next few years!

  5. What gorgeous girls! It cracks me up how Stuart Little is featured prominently in several of the photos!!! That reminds me of my daughter (now 13) who loved to have her toy du jour in any photo that I snapped.

Sweet photos, thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. Wow oh wow, when did Hayley grow that hair!?! Gorgeous. Of coures, ironically, she’ll hate it. She’ll want your straight locks. I know, because I have curly hair and own a straightener 😉

Breanna is just too cute for words! She’s going to be tearing it up in no time.
