I really prefer the guys overall to the girls this season.
Spoilers lurk, proceed with caution.
Giddeon – Eh. He’s certainly good, but he just doesn’t do it for me. He did well tonight though.
Chris – I love what he does every week. He’ll make top 12 and beyond, but he doesn’t need to because he really is ready.
Kevin – Seriously. What the fuck was THAT?
Bucky – He’s not awful, but I agree with Simon. He’s okay but you can hear that in any bar in the world. Also, after “meeting” his twin, wtf? Rocky and Bucky? Did their parents hate them?
Will – I liked it. Really. He’s not amazing but he has a nice clear voice. Although, honestly I always feel like it’s O.C. Idol and I’m watching Seth Cohen perform, but without the angst.
Taylor – DUDE. That was so awesome, I loved it. I love Taylor so much and want him to win, but I was starting to worry about his lame song choices; this fixed it. And I actually dig the total spaz-style dancing because you know it’s just because he’s really into it.
Elliot – Another nod in Simon’s direction; yes his voice is great, but that song was underwhelming and boring and a total washout. YAWN. But he’s 90% deaf in one ear and still sounds better than most people anyway.
Ace – I liked this much better than last week, but still not as awesome as Father Figure. I think it has less to do with him and more to do with the fact that I really don’t generally care for falsetto. Singing aside, may I just say Rowr! because, uh, yeah.
Other stuff – Can someone please take Paula’s mic away? I think my ears started bleeding because she kept screaming “woooo” right into it. That was really annoying. Also, stop drinking before the show, you lunatic. And the whole Ryan “I had a dream about you Simon” “That doesn’t surprise me” exchange was awesome. Finally, once again, Bucky/Rocky/WTF?

Also, since I forgot to write about the girls, I hope we say goodbye to Kinnick and Backwoods Barbie Kellie. Likability my ASS.
Taylor RAWKS. You could tell everyone was into it. I was boogying on the couch! And I liked Will, too—tho maybe because of my thing for James Taylor, but I thought he (as Randy would say) did his own thing with it. I am so bored with the girls, I don’t even tape it if I’m not home.
I think I’m pretty much on the same page as you as far as the guys.
One thing though with Kevin. I cannot believe that no one has mentioned anything about his lisp. His “S’s” sound like a cross between a S and TH like he’s chokeing on his tongue. It is painful for me to listen to him!!!
I laughed my ass off when I read your recap for Kevin. LOL! I totally agree on that. I’m going to be really pissed if someone good gets bumped tonight for his baby ass.
I mostly agree on all your takes. I think I probably like Bucky more than you do, only because I enjoy his voice when he’s singing, I don’t enjoy it when he speaks. Go figure. I really like Taylor too. Doug didn’t at the beginning, but I think he’s growing on him now. I’ve always dug the way he moves, I think it’s comical.

Oh I almost forgot…ever see the movie “Oh Brother” w/ George Clooney? Well when we watched the first show, Doug and I were laughing our asses off because Taylor totally looks like George Clooney in that movie and Elliott looks like his side kick, Delmur. Doug dug up pictures of them all and posted them on his blog awhile back, totally funny!
i, too, was hoping to say goodbye to Kevin and Bucky. wtf? gedeon and Will were 1000% times better than chicken little.
