My other blow-up doll is a Santa!

Remember when I posted that picture of the inflatable Santa on top of the inflatable polar bear? Remember I mentioned that there was a house we pass occasionally that is far more enamored of inflatable Christmas decorations? Remember I promised I would take a picture and post it for you so that you can share in the holiday horror cheer?

You’re welcome.

I think the worst part was that in the week since I had last seen it, they ADDED to it. The Santa on the upper balcony and the archway over the stairs weren’t there before. I guess they thought their collection was missing a certain festive je ne sais quoi.

I came home and was very happy to have just a simple little tree with simple white lights and no frightening inflatable crowd on my balcony or front lawn.

  1. Imagine the conversation – “Gee, honey, I just don’t feel like the yard is festive enough.” “You’re right, it’s missing something.” “Yes, but what?” “How about a giant archway so that visitors will know they’re entering CANDYLAND?” “Oh, darling!”

  2. My tall, inflatable Frosty the Snowman would go well there. I even have 8 huge, round, inflatable Christmas ornaments that look just like what I used to put on my indoor Christmas tree … except they are so much larger for outdoor use. I feel a certain camaraderie developing. I’m certain of it. Plus at my age 1/ my kid would probably kill me if I climbed a ladder and 2/ I LOVE tacky. lol

  3. -DIES- Nice subject line…

Say, how’s your little kitty doing? I about melted at the pic of her sleeping above the dryer – silly thing. (Did you say anything about how either of your little babies reacted to the tree? I have no memory… yet I do remember a few years back when you had a baby gate blocking Hayley from investigating…)

  4. I HATE those things? At least you don’t live right across the street from them. Ever thought of using a paintball gun?

I loved your subject line also; it got me clicking right through!

  5. Man, and I thought my neighbourhood was getting out of hand with the inflatable Christmas decorations. I stand corrected: they’re downright sane compared to that house in your picture. Wow.

  6. i’m not sure which is funnier, the blow up christmas decorations or your other visitors’ comments .. especially this one, beginning with “Gee, honey, I just don’t feel like the yard is festive enough.” rotfpml!! 😀
