So podcasts are slowly popping up more and more. I’ll be honest – I’ve never even listened to one, though I intend to poke around and find some soon.
I always thought podcasts were themes, almost like on talk radio. Apparently though, some people are just podcasting about whatever’s on their mind, almost like the recorded version of a weblog. So now I’m curious about it. I mean, really, there’s an entire studio set up just down the hall in our music room. There’s really no excuse for not giving it a try. You know, other than the fact that I really hate listening to my voice to the point of cringing when I hear the recorded voice message on our phone.
So I need two types of input from you.
1. If you listen to podcasts, give me one or two that you think I should listen to. Let me know a rough idea as to what they’re about.
2. What would you want to listen to me babble on about if I really do get around to doing one of my own?
There’s no guarantee here. I may very well chicken out. You should have seen the way I used to freak out when they would get me to do a quick recording of something in the studio. Hell, even when I had to record the voice mail messages for the studio, I used to write it down exactly on a piece of paper and I would record it about five hundred times. We’ll see. I’m just curious right now as to whether anyone would actually want to listen to me drone on in my Canadian accent, eh.

And at an average of 10-15 minutes, they are really short. I don’t even have a pod or mp3 player of any kind, I just listen at the computer.
You know *I’d* listen to you and your funny accent. 😉 Turn the thing on and ramble, or as the link I left above, read out one of your journal entires with a few extra bits tossed in.
I think Jade did a few where she read poems and such. It’s interesting to hear the voices of people you have been reading for years and years!
You could throw Hayley on there, just for kicks, also! Have her do a little song or something. She’d probably get a kick out of that.
You could read tidbits from your Canadian news. Interesting for us American folk. 🙂
Oh, hey! You could recite your recipes and make all our mouths water while we’re jogging on the treadmill!
You could include some of George’s music in the background…
Am I boring you yet!?
Well, you asked!
The Twisted Pickle: I haven’t listened to it in a while, but this guy has a diary-like format for his podcast. If I were going to start a journalish podcast, I’d probably use his format.
You know, you could always test it out by submitting a guest essay to Sage (of Quirky Nomads) or Brenda (of Cast-On)…see if you like it, y’know. 🙂
You could simply read your normal blog and call it an aid for the visually challenged. (Did I say really say that? — I HATE politically correct terms.)
I just want to hear you say “aboot” over and over ; )
I’ve only listened to a couple of podcasts ever, but I too would like to hear you talk aboot stuff in your strange Canadian accent. Remember that show You Can’t Do That On Television? I finally realized Canada is why they all spoke so weird.
I like the dawn and drew show – http://dawnanddrew.podshow.com/. They are this married couple that, that live in the middle of nowhere, but are basically a bad train wreck. Very entertaining! I recently started to listen to binary bonsai – http://binarybonsai.com/about/. He talks about his interest in gaming music scores, tech stuff, and his general thoughts. Other ones that I have listened to are tech/computer stuff, Mr. KFI (radio show host out here), scrappy/craft stuff, other random ones.
I like Richard’s idea. Just your thoughts possibly. I been wanting to start one myself. I am sure whatever you talk about will be funny. And I would love to here your Canadian accent. LOL!!!
The only podcast I’ve listened to is The Ricky Gervais show. But if you did one, I would undoubtedly listen to it!
