Oh, the memories that come back with this one. There was nothing like a pack of awkward pre-teen girls hovering around the boys, hoping that they’d get to dance to “Careless Whisper” with the “right” guy. Not because the lyrics were romantic and full of promise since it was a song about hurting someone, but because it was longer than your average slow song played at school dances, so you’d get extra time to sway stiffly back and forth with some guy who held you six inches away (but hoping he’d pull you closer).
Man, I miss Wham! sometimes. Even if I sometimes got stuck dancing with the absolute wrong guy to this song on more than one occasion.

yeah, i still throw on this album on occasion. i’m not ashamed to admit it. i had the BIGGEST crush on george michael. this album came out when i was only about 7, but for show and tell in the 3rd grade, i took in an inappropriately sexy postcard of george michael that my older sister got me. i think my mom found out and threw it away. that day was the last i saw of that pic of george stretched out (dressed in white of course) with his fabulously feathered hair, on white satin sheets. ahhh….how his gaze penetrated my soul. LOL!
