I haven’t been subjecting anyone here to my obsession with American Idol (and Canadian Idol in the summer), though I have been all over it over on LJ. This can not be kept quiet though. Last night Blake Lewis completely blew my mind. I’ve always liked Blake and he was always my favorite of the guys (with Jordin being my favorite of the girls although she didn’t do very well last night on rock night).
I’ve missed Blake’s trademark beat boxing but last night he totally made it worth the wait. I think he should win a prize for the most original version of a well-known song on Idol ever. Jon Bon Jovi was worried that fans who love the song would not be receptive to the changes but as a huge fan of “You Give Love a Bad Name”, I can tell you it was AWESOME. Hmm, I seem to be the only person who really doesn’t like Blake. I don’t watch the show all the time, but if I happen to catch it, I’ll watch. It wasn’t the beat boxing that I minded – I say “kudos” to him for taking a real chance and being an actual artist and, y’know, creative. I just don’t like his voice.
Y’know who I REALLY like, though? Melinda. She is so versatile, and she even already has a great stage name. How could you possibly forget a name like Melinda Doolittle??
Oh, I love Blake. I know Melinda is great but honestly other than last night I find her kind of boring to watch. Great voice but performance-wise I’d rather watch Jordin or Blake. Jordin had a rough time last night but I just love her voice and she’s fun. But I’ve liked Blake since the auditions round. I think his voice is nice.

Well amanda im with you.. at least a bit anyway. I dont have anything against him..my sister and i watched the show that is shown above.. and we HATED it.

Oh I had chills while I was watching this. As a big Bon Jovi fan I loved this version as much as the original. Thanks for sharing, unfortunately I missed the show but I am rooting for Blake, I think he is great.
