Printakid Personalized Books ROCK

Awhile back, Parent Bloggers Network offered up a chance to review Printakid, personalized books for children so I jumped on it right away. There’s little I love more than a chance to encourage the joys of reading, after all. I filled out a questionnaire on the Printakid site about Hayley (I chose her since Breanna is not really that interested in being read to, preferring to just look at the pictures by herself), and I waited for the book to arrive. I don’t really know what I expected, but I assumed it would just be a regular book with Hayley’s name sprinkled throughout.

Oh, how wrong I was.

I wish I had all my brain cells back that I lost during childbirth so I could come up with a hundred ways to describe exactly how much I love the book we received. It was so much more than i ever expected. The book uses Hayley’s name, her phone number, my name and George’s name, Breanna’s name, and those of two of her good friends. Not only that, the main character looks very much like a cartoon version of Hayley. It was so well done to look like her that Hayley realized it was supposed to be her as soon as we started reading.

During the first reading, Hayley giggled non-stop, thrilled that she was the star of a special story. She asks me to read it to her several times each week and often “reads” it to herself at night after she gets in bed. It’s one of her top three favorite books, and I know that it’s because it’s about her that makes it so special for her.

In Giddyland - Printakid.com

The book I ordered for her is called In Giddyland, a story about a little girl (in this case, Hayley) who falls off her sled while speeding down a snowy hill, and lands in Giddyland. She seeks the help of a little penguin named Paco who helps her find her way back home, having a few adventures along the way. There are several other story choices you can make, but I chose Giddyland because of Hayley’s current love of all things penguin (hello, Happy Feet, thanks for the penguin obsession).

I can not praise these books enough and I would highly recommend them to people. They’re great to buy for your own kids and they would make a wonderful gift as well. What kid wouldn’t like being the star of a fantastic story, especially if the drawings look like them as well?

I will definitely be looking into ordering another one - possibly the one related to school since that’s our current phase in life.

Much kudos to Printakid for a job exceptionally well done!
