Santa

Saturday Montreal held its annual Santa Claus parade. We had intended to go with our friends Nancy and Dino, but the forecast showed it was going to be way too cold to stand outside. Instead we went to a shopping center that was having some Santa festivities so that we could entertain the babies without freezing ourselves.

We had a really nice time. Santa walked around up on the roof and you could see him through the glass panes. Firemen came and opened them up and he climbed onto a crane and was lowered to the ground. Good thing it wasn't windy out!

After that, there was a parade through the whole mall. We also spent about half an hour in the pet store there - it's one of those huge ones where they really take excellent care of the animals. Everything from the cats and dogs to the lizards and rodents looked very healthy and content. I loved it in there. That's the kind of place that I wouldn't mind working part time for some extra cash. It's too far though, so I think I may take my CV over to a pet store closer to home. While we were there, we decided on a pet that Hayley can enjoy. She loves Cricket but Cricket won't let her come near her, so we want something that Hayley can pet and hold and touch. Stay tuned for that.

We also roamed through Chapters and I enjoyed inhaling the smell of so many books. Yes, I am weird. However, it's been so long since I've actually been in a book store and purchased a book (hooray for the library!) that I was appalled at the prices. Sheesh.

We ended the day on a pleasant note by picking up brunch and heading to Dino and Nancy's house. We hung out there until early evening, then came home. It was a great day.

There are pictures from our day posted in the photo album.

And speaking of pictures!

It was a nice day today (relatively speaking) and it was warm enough to take Hayley for a walk to the park. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer but also rainy, and winter is fast approaching so I know that I need to get out while I can, that whole "gather ye rosebuds while ye may" deal. Since I'm tired tonight, instead of yapping away I'll just leave you with some incredibly cute pictures.

I love our park. I'll miss going when the winter really does hit.

Okay I think it's officially time for my pre-bed cup of tea and Hershey's chocolate bar. Good night!

1999: Now i sit around and talk about birdies and bogies and par 5 and i'm looking forward to seeing if i can find some golf on Saturday or Sunday.
