Pre-Juno Concert

Last night’s concert was amazing. On the radio this morning, they said that there is always a pre-Judo concert in whichever city is chosen to host the awards, and that this year’s concert, in Halifax, was the largest ever at roughly 15,000 people. It was incredible to be a part of that:
Setting up yesterday afternoon:

Juno Madness

Ever since it was announced that Halifax would be the host city for the Juno Awards (Canadian music awards), I’ve been happy for Halifax because it will bring a lot of money to the city as well as publicity and whatnot - people who come here for the Junos might fall in love with the […]

As Promised…

… picture time!
Proof that Kim - the one who brought me to the ship party - is completely insane, here she is sliding down the banister at work:

And from last weekend on St-Paddy’s Day when I met Neal:

Some from my walk yesterday at Point Pleasant Park:

And […]

I had a really great time with Neal. We can just talk and talk and talk for hours, about anything and everything. Hell, we even talked about religion today. We talked about local politics. We talked about our lives and our jobs and about stupid little things. A little while ago, I met a guy […]

Just a quick entry before Neal comes to pick me up for our hike:
I couldn’t take any pictures because that’s a rule - no pictures are taken in the Mess, where the party was. I guess it’s sort of a “what happens in the Mess stays in the Mess” kind of thing. I probably could […]

Luck of the Irish

I met someone on Saint Paddy’s Day.
I was absolutely exhausted on Friday, and part of me REALLY just wanted to go home at the end of the day and take it easy. But it was St-Patrick’s Day. I knew I’d regret not going out for at least one beer. So when 5:30 rolled around, I […]

Night Out for MS

I have a bad habit of taking pictures and then leaving them there for a few days. Surprisingly, the bulk of the ones I’m going to share with y’all were taken last night.
Last Saturday, however, Nancy and I went out to the Rodeo over in Burnside (on the Dartmouth side). We had a really […]

Frustration

I can’t write.
I don’t know what it is, but I’m just having the hardest time getting myself to write anything - of fiction, that is. For one thing, I have to practically force myself to sit there and work on something. I only ever seem to be motivated when I can’t write, such as right […]

Yesterday was not the firm’s day, technologically speaking. First, our email server crashed because there are too many people here keeping too many emails (one person had 18,000 emails in her folder!), so our IT guy was running around the office. Then, in the afternoon, my computer crashed and died. I’m talking about NO possibility […]

Long Picture Update

I went to Wal-Mart tonight and saw that “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” had come out on DVD today. They were selling it for $18, for a one-day sale. It would go to the regular price tomorrow, whatever that is, so even though I had never gotten around to seeing it in theatres, […]
