Nothing wrong with peeking. I've always done the same thing because of the same reasons. The way I look at it, if they don't want anyone to see in, they'd close their blinds/curtains.

You can ask yousefl another question rather than worrying about right or wrong; "Does it harm people when you look inside their room with an intention to learn something?"

I trust you got some ideas?

There must be something in the air because my girls have been arguing all day too! I hope it's not a sign of what's to come this winter.

And no, you're not the only peeker ;)

My reading tastes are pretty eclectic, but I definitely join in your fascination with books whose themes centre on the middle east / women's roles therein.

Lately, though, I've been reading some pretty diverse stuff. Right now I'm reading The 19th Wife (fiction) , Mountains beyond Mountains (nonfiction) and The Biology of Belief (also nonfiction). I like juggling my books. :)

Favourites that I've recently finished:

- Day after Night, Anita Diamant (author of "The Red Tent")
- The Shipping News, Annie Proulx
- Cold Rock River, J.l. Miles
- Lullabies for Little Criminals, Heather O'Neill
- The Book of Ruth, Jane Hamilton

Have you read "The Orange Trees of Baghdad" by Leilah Naidir. It's non-fiction written about an Iraqi-Canadian looking into her roots. I got it for Christmas last year and though it was excellent. Leilah Nadir lives in Vancouver and went to McGill.

I love historical fiction and cozy mysteries. Right now I am reading Fat Girl: A True Story. It is very interesting and sad. I just went and requested Blood Brothers from Paperback Swap - I love me a good supernatural mystery!

Speaking of Keeping Faith, I'm on a Jodi Picoult kick these days... After reading Keeping Faith and My Sister's Keeper, I moved on to The Tenth Circle, Salem Falls and now reading Nineteen Minutes. I've discovered there are recurring characters in her novels, which is neat. They're engaging dramas, but I think I'll give her a rest after this one!
On the Europe trip, I read The Book of Negroes, The Time Traveller's Wife and Julie & Julia -- all very good if you haven't read them yet (spent lots of time on trains and planes, lol!!)

I'm reading Breath by Tim Winton right now. It's pretty good.

I just finished Gossip of the Starlings by Nina de Gramont. That was quite good; very well written.
