Well, the gastro that Breanna caught was pretty damn contagious seeing as how I came down with it too. Can I just say that gastro sucks?
Luckily she seems to be better, having eaten something real last night (a small bit of chicken) and some more food today. I’m not what I would call “well” at this point but I’m certainly better than I was in the middle of the night. For two days I had minimal sips of water (probably dehydrating myself tremendously, but I just couldn’t get it down more than just a sip here or there), a very tiny bowl of chicken noodle soup, and two small bowls of applesauce. Tonight for supper I had a toasted bagel and that was possibly the most delicious thing I have eaten ever. It was so good to put something solid into my stomach, and the gingerale I’ve been sipping in between small cups of water has helped too.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow and the day after that, at which point I’ll hopefully feel a lot more human that I have the past 48 hours.
The BRAT diet can help sometimes:
[B]anana
[R]ice
[A]pple sauce
[T]ea or [T]oast (I forget which)
You have the right idea with those fluids.
Maximum output with minimum input definitely takes its toll.
Glad you all seem to be over the worst.

Richard – rice probably would have been good. I thought about bananas but the thought totally repulsed me (I’m not the best fruit eater on the best of days). I had tea one night but I think I should have left out the splash of milk but it wasn’t bad. Applesauce was definitely good even if it took me 20 minutes to eat it.
